It\u2019s famous for its\u00a0baroque architecture, richly-decorated iron balconies and also its historic churches.<\/p>\n<p>This 3-day event is one of the most unique festivals in Italy, transforming several streets into floral works of art. The festivities typically take place in the \u2018centro storico\u2019(historical center) and attracts visitors and artists from around Italy and beyond.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Infiorata_di_Noto_-_what_to_expect_at_this_flower_festival\">Infiorata di Noto \u2014 what to expect at this flower festival<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ragusanews.com\/\/immagini_articoli\/19-05-2018\/infiorata-noto-nicolaci-diventa-seta-500.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for infiorata di noto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The principle street of Via Nicolaci is the highlight of the event.\u00a0A carpet of flowers in a myriad of colors lines the long historic cobbled-stone street.\u00a0Via Nicolaci is also where you\u2019ll find the renowned baroque balconies.<\/p>\n<p>The sloped streets of Noto city center also add to the floral arrangement\u2019s dramatic finish. To say the Infiorata di Noto is impressive is an absolute understatement.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a showcase of art, passion and tradition all rolled into one. And it\u2019s something we have the association of flower masters, i Maestri Infioratori di Noto, to be thankful for.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"How_do_the_masters_create_the_art_for_Infiorata_di_Noto\">How do the masters create the art for Infiorata di Noto?<br \/><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.suntripsicily.com\/administration\/foto\/1484151506_infiorata_noto2.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for infiorata di noto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u2018maestri\u2019 place each flower in place according to the festival theme. This year in 2019, the celebrated theme chosen was \u2018Sicilians in America\u2019. On the first day of the event, the main road barriers are removed and visitors can begin admiring the art. They do keep barriers surrounding the floral displays, so getting too close isn\u2019t an option.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Infiorata\u2019 literally translates as \u2018flowered\u2019, which gives you an idea behind the event\u2019s name. One thing to note, is that the Infiorata di Noto usually occurs every year in May from Friday to Sunday. That said, it\u2019s possible to visit Noto for a city break, and catch the flower spectacle at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.italy-villas.com\/ccontent_page\/3423361602854764xx\/large\/42815971245_bd78a0767f_k.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for infiorata di noto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the Friday morning, the official inauguration of the event takes place. And\u00a0at around 5pm, the masters begin decorating the designated streets beneath the gaze of the public.\u00a0They don\u2019t usually finish until the next morning, but spectators are able to stay and watch the whole night if they wish.<\/p>\n<p>Come Saturday, the floral display is complete and open to the public all day.\u00a0There\u2019s a feeling of celebration and festivity in the air, as visitors go around admiring the floral works of art.\u00a0On the final day, a flag wavers parade marches through the streets. Dressed in Baroque costume and accompanied by musicians, it typically starts around 3pm.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Why_you_should_see_the_Infiorata_di_Noto_for_yourself\">Why you should visit and see the Infiorata di Noto for yourself<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.antichisentieri.it\/events\/128_big.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for infiorata di noto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to be green-fingered to appreciate this colorful flower festival. It\u2019s enough seeing the scale, and amount of effort, that goes into creating these works of art.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, walking around Noto\u2019s historic center is like walking straight into a real-life museum. Baroque churches and the awesome 18th century Noto Cathedral sit within meters of each other on Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
